I was so sorry to hear about Maggie's passing, but I am glad that she got to live out her life with you.  You gave her the TLC she needed and deserved.  And she gave it right back to you.  She knew she was loved and now she has moved onto an even better place.  She will truly be missed.  Love, Suzanne

Carol,
I send my most heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.  Maggie was such a special girl and she will be missed by everyone that knew her.  I can not tell you enough how happy I am that you came to the shelter that day and took her home.  From the first time we met, I knew Maggie had found that special home we wish for all the animals that come through our doors.  She truly deserved a second chance at happily ever after and you gave that to her.  Remember all the wonderful times and the impact that you had on her life!  It will never be forgotten....  Take Care!  Kathie

This was posted by my daughter, Lissa, on Lord Goliath's Bulldog Domain.  Thank you Lissa.  Maggie loved you and Royce.

Hello,
I just wanted to let you old timers know that my parents bulldog and Buddy's greatest friend in the world was brought to Rainbow Bridge on Saturday morning.  Maggie got very sick two weeks ago and her body stopped absorbing nutrients from food.  With every test run and treatment tried her frail body could take no more and at 30 lbs was carried into her clinic in arms of love and lovingly lead to rainbow bridge by her vet and staff who loved her dearly.

For those of you that didn't know Maggie was rescued by Animal police from a puppy mill and spent the first four years of her life stuffed in a small kennel with another dog.  She was given a second chance at life and treated for numerous ailments.  She was abused yet still loved all people, men, babies, children and other animals.  She spend the last three years of her life happy and well taken care of.

She obtained her CGC, was voted "top dog" out of 300 applicants and featured in a 2008 rescue calendar, was a spokesdoggie for the local Humane Society and her story appeared on TV.  Maggie was also Bulldog of the Month here on bulldog domain.
She was on her way to become a therapy dog after passing the quick test and told she would be perfect for it.

She will be deaply missed by any who knew her.

Maggie, it's been one week, and we want you to know we miss you more every day.  I miss your gentle and obedient personality and gentle spirit.  What a wise old girl you were.  Our hearts broke that you were so mis-treated, but we instantly saw how special you were.  You gave up a bone, your food, any toy without a flinch - whatever we asked of you, you did.  Most of all, I miss giving you a kiss, Dad misses your licking his face.  May our tears be a testament to unconditional love, frienship, and perseverance, evidence that in God's creation there is good.

In heaven there awaits our home where we will all be whole, healed in every way.  Good-bye for now.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge
.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross
Rainbow Bridge
together....

Godspeed Maggie. You were a sister and a friend to Buddy and he will miss you. We will miss your greeting at the front door and your gentle nudge that you needed a pat on the head. You came a long way girl. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

I was just thinking about Maggie and missing her and wondering what will fill the place she had in your home. Wondering how Thanksgiving will feel without her greeting everyone at the door and begging for just a little bit of turkey and potatoes. I hope you able to feast now Maggie, on whatever you want and never get sick again.
